Terms of Use

Last updated: 29 October 2026

Draft. This text is awaiting review by our lawyer and is not yet in effect. Feel free to write to us with questions.

These terms apply when you use the Kepyil app (iOS, Android, app.mezuniyetyilligi.com) and the school panel. The service is provided by [company name] ("Kepyil", "we"). By using the app you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy.

What Kepyil offers

In Kepyil a class or a school puts its graduation yearbook together: students write to each other, teachers approve the messages, and photos, a memory wall, superlatives, a time capsule and voice or video memories played from QR codes are added to the yearbook. When the yearbook is locked, print-ready pages and a PDF are produced. A school or organizer may also request that the book be printed.

Account and sign-in

  • You sign in to Kepyil with a one-time code sent to your phone or e-mail. You join a yearbook with an invite code, with a link shared by your class, or by setting up a yearbook yourself.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and for not sharing your sign-in codes. Your account is for you alone; you may not write on someone else’s behalf. The exception is a parent acting for their child under 13.
  • You can delete your account in the app at any time: Account deletion.

Age and parental consent

  • The app is for ages 13 and up. Children under 13 do not join with their own account; their parent appears and writes in the yearbook on the child’s behalf.
  • Students under 18 cannot write and do not appear in the yearbook until a parent consents.
  • If someone under 18 sets up a yearbook, their parent consents first, and then a responsible adult (a teacher or a parent) is added to the yearbook. The responsible adult approves payment and the finalizing of the book.

Organizers, teachers and schools

  • The person who sets up a yearbook (the organizer) manages its members, classes, schedule and theme, and must approve join requests only for people who are really in that class.
  • Teachers approve their class’s messages or send them back for changes.
  • For yearbooks a school runs under a contract, the school is responsible for informing students and parents and for its own rules being followed.

Content rules

A yearbook is a book kept for years. The following are not allowed in what you write or upload:

  • Hurtful, demeaning or mocking language, bullying, threats, hate speech, sexual content, or encouraging violence or illegal behavior.
  • Personal details: phone numbers, addresses, e-mail addresses, social media accounts.
  • Someone else’s photo or voice taken or shared without their permission; copyrighted content that is not yours.

Messages are checked by rules first and, where applicable, by AI; a teacher reviews the unclear ones. Content that breaks the rules is sent back for changes, hidden or removed. You can report content or block a person with the "Report" button in the app; we review reports within 24 hours. Messages showing signs of self-harm are passed to a teacher or the yearbook’s responsible adult. We may close an account that repeatedly breaks the rules.

Rights in your content

The messages you write and the photos and recordings you upload are yours. By uploading them to Kepyil you grant Kepyil and the yearbook’s organizer a limited, non-transferable licence, for the life of the yearbook, to use them to prepare the yearbook, show it to the people in the same yearbook, print it and provide its digital copy. Kepyil’s software, themes and designs belong to Kepyil.

Payments

  • Collecting messages is free. Teachers and parents do not pay.
  • For a yearbook to be finalized, a place (seat) must be paid for every student. Either the organizer pays for everyone, or each student pays their own share and the organizer can cover any shares left. The yearbook cannot be finalized until every share is paid.
  • Payments are made only through in-app purchase on the App Store or Google Play. Current prices are shown in the store before you buy. Seats you buy are assigned to the yearbook you choose when buying.
  • Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their own processes. A finalized yearbook is not reopened because of a later refund.
  • Under a contract with a school, payments and entitlements may be arranged by that contract. Your rights under consumer law are not affected.

Printing

Printing the book is optional and is not part of any in-app purchase. A print request is sent from the app; quantity, price, payment and delivery are agreed with our team separately. An organizer who prefers to print the book themselves can use the print-ready PDF.

Availability

We work to keep Kepyil running without interruptions or errors, but maintenance, updates or causes beyond our control may lead to short outages. We may improve or change features; we do not change the content of a finalized yearbook.

Closing an account

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, with a warning first where possible. Pages in a finalized or printed yearbook stay in the book even after the account is closed.

Liability

The person who writes or uploads content is primarily responsible for it. To the extent the law allows, Kepyil is not liable for indirect damage arising from the service being unavailable or from user content. Liability for intent and gross negligence and under consumer law is not affected.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. [competent courts: the courts of Istanbul?] have jurisdiction over disputes. Consumers may apply to consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts within the legal limits.

Changes and contact

When we change these terms we update the date on this page and announce important changes in the app. Questions: [company name], [company address], [email protected].
